Fēnix Energy Launches Operations and Maintenance Solution, Turning Buildings into Sustainable Assets
Vancouver-based Fēnix Energy has taken another step towards its vision of creating the greenest cities across North America – one building at a time, by launching an Operations and Maintenance solution focused on harnessing the thermal energy of buildings.
Working with BC-based developers and utilities Fēnix has been awarded three long term contracts to implement predictive Operations and Maintenance (O&M) solutions for high-rise Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. In effect, turning run of the mill HVAC systems into sustainable assets capable of harvesting, storing and trading energy.
We’ve always believed that a building’s HVAC system is so much more than ‘just’ mechanical infrastructure. It is the solution to a healthy bottom line and even healthier environment,” commented Edward Smith, Managing Director, Fēnix Energy. “Since 2010, we’ve been developing a Design, Build, Own, Operate service offering based on that belief. With demand growing for our O&M services, we know we’re on the right track.
When asked about Vancouver as a launch site for the clean technology solution, Adrian Ryan, Director, Fēnix Energy commented, “Vancouver is known for its ambitious Greenest City Action Plan, so it was an obvious choice to prove the solution. Fēnix O&M services include preventative maintenance, emergency call-out and system optimization to ensure asset reliability, in addition to managing system expansion and upgrades. We’re looking forward to helping more developers, municipalities and utilities leverage O&M to balance demand for smart cities, green buildings and a healthy bottom-line.”
About Fēnix Energy www.fenixenergy.com
Founded in 2010 with a vision to create the greenest cities across North America one building at a time, Fēnix Energy is growing a reputation among developers, municipalities and utilities for leading the delivery of thermal energy solutions. By upgrading the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems of high-rise buildings (new or old), Fēnix turns developments into Thermal Energy Assets that harvest, store and trade energy. The company’s systems accommodate many thermal tie-ins like water heat recovery, solar, geo-exchange and biomass. Solutions are completely scalable; working for a single building, multiple buildings within a development (Network Energy System®), or across a city (Eco-District). Fēnix Energy helps create a win for the environment and the bottom line; making the business case for investing in renewables an undeniable one.
